Dad's Diaries

Dad made this album for me. I am not sure quite when, but the last photo is in 1990, when I would have been 28. They are photos of me at various stages of life, with the accompanying entry from his diary.

My 1st Day

Went shopping in the morning. Kath started pains at 5:50pm. Rang for mid-wife at 6:30pm. She came 7pm. Baby boy arrived 8:50. 8Lbs. Susan awoke had a job getting her back to sleep

Kath shopped. I continued tiling the bathroom. Kath went to Mrs Prices and the library in the evening.

In Batley at Christmas

Went to Batley market place to see the crib. Left for home 2:30pm. Had a comfortable journey. Had tea on the way. & arrived home 6pm. Susan had terrible coughing bout in the night

Me and Tim Jones

Creosoted and did some gardeining. Wathched RAG procession in afternoon. Kath and I went to Dun Cow with Eric and Kath p/m.

Family Trip to Waterways Museum

Went to the shops in the morning. Had a ride to Stoke Bruerne to see th British Waterways Museum. Had a walk with Dad to the Paddox (pub).

Sledging in Rugby

Kath went out to church 9am. Susan went to Sunday school. We made a snowman & sledged in the afternoon. Then to the wades for tea. Stayed at home at night

Had a trip to the Malvern Hills- very pleasant. Kathwent out to do Mrs Day's feet

A Walk Near Brompton

At Brompton. Susan went ti coffee morning with Judith. Went to the Dingle in th afternoon. Kath went shopping in Shrwsbury AM. Went for dinner at The "Lord Hope", in Shrewsbury

Went to church AM & PM. Kath went at 8. I gardened in the morning. Followed the women's road race to Daventry. Took Kids photos with pups. David, Helen , Simon (Masters) , Susie

Paddling pools in garden

Went to the town. Bought a new pair of shoes etc. Kids at Janes for lunch. We went to the Andalucia. Kath went to the Wades' at night. I put another row of beans in. Susan slept at Tim's again.

Donkey Ride at Porthcawl

Went to Porthcawl for the day after shopping in Swansea. Weather windy Only Discovered better part of Porthcawl when coming home.

With Cousin Robert

Went fishing with Ann and Robert at Batley Park in the morning. Set off for Rugby 2:10pm. Comfortable journey.

My Nursery’s Nativity Play (Mrs Stackhouse’s?)

Susan ill with stomach trouble. Cath (Jones) babysat while we went to see David in Nativity play. Kath baby sat for the Jones.

The Snowman

Went to the Chirch am. Kath went PM. Made a snowman with David. Had a run to Grandburgh (car?) Stayed in at night.

My 4th Birthday Party

Went to the baths am. David's birthday party in the afternoon. Susan not too well during the night.

Susan went swimming at 12. Kath bought her a riding hat. I defrosted the fridge. Took photos of kids in paddling pool

Stop off at Brompton

RAiny today st off back (from Lesley's flat in Brecon) via Grandma Ward's. Had fish and chips in Bilton. Arrived home 10:05pm
